Yes, actually! Since the data cylinder isn't hooked up to the same tech as the main ship there will be no flashing red lights if Lance of Ahsoka try to interface with the data inside once it's made viewable.

They can download all the map data onto their wrist communicators & share it among the other travelers through interfacing :)

Aaand as a follow-up: by interfacing with data containing an alien language, Lance and Ahsoka can absorb it into their suits, giving them the ability to read portions of it!
